Great to be alive. Woke up a few hours ago from a gallbladderectomy and back home now. I'm taking the rest of the week off.

Good to hear it went well Haans! Take it easy......it's major surgery even though they have it down to orthscopic procedures so don't strain. Had mine out a few years back. Took 3 or 4 months for everything to regulate so to speak <smile>. It's sure nice to not have the attacks!

I'm pretty sure gall bladders are over rated anyway. Glad all the important parts are still in tact. Heal well Haans.

Good for you. Sometimes when people ask me "how are you doing?" I will say Great!! But I'm getting better!

I can hear the Pathologist now. What the @!##--these gallstones are pure nitrocellulose. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

Take off more than the rest of the week, if mine is any example.

Achy all over, and think I'm having a reaction to the oxycodone. Itched all over last nite.
Don't worry guys, I'm going to take as long as it takes to recover. Back to a nap, Guess I'll work on my new website when I'm coherent enough.

Hang in there Haans... I feel your pain (..kinda like you did about 200 too many situps!)
Had mine out in '03 after a giant stone (over 2cm apparently) turned me a lovely yellow/green & almost killed me (...talk about needing a good plumber!!)

Dave, I didn't have gallstones, but I did have a excretion fraction of 13%...normal is 35-70%. Seems as though I might feel a little better, hard to tell through the pain. Thanks Waddy, I'll be back at it soon.
Back to nappies...

Been there, done That! Don't miss it. One of the best things that ever happened to me was getting that thing jerked out. Much better! Get well soon!
