Hello,

Newbie here and may I just say what a great site this is.Thks

I've just stripped an old acoustic back to bare wood, its mahogany, and I'm trying to figure out what the order is for my refinishing schedule.

Do I dye/tint the wood before applying sanding sealer or is it vice verser. I intend to finish with a couple of thin coats of nitro which I shall cut back and polish.

The guitar is'nt worth anything, this is really a test bed so I can figure the best course of action for when I come to build my first guitar which won't be for a while yet.

Incidentally the thick red gloss re-finish it came with was never gonna last!!...lol

Thanks

Matt
