But I couldn't resist this score. I have been looking for some ridiculously nice coco for some time now. I think this fits the bill.

What the heck? I bought that same set on Friday... Although I had them hold it for shipping while waiting for some new African blackwood fingerboards to be milled. Are you sure you posted the right picture? I'll call them tomorrow and see what happened.

Well, I can't blame you. It is an insanely gorgeous set :D
Actually I was even worse and bought this one too:

Because 717's sides are a little dull, and those match it so perfectly. So I was going to swap the sides, and then consider selling the 717 side and 719 back pair later if I don't come up with something I really want to use them on.

But if there's a complication with the orders, I could settle for just 719 :)

I've had that 717 set in my cart since the day it was posted. Not sure how that happened.

Oops, I just edited my other post to add a bit more, but a couple new posts now...

Yes, I bought 717 and 719 over the phone Friday afternoon, and they got marked sold on the web site a couple minutes later. But like I said in my edited post, I'd be happy with just 719, so we can work it out. I was already feeling a little greedy for snapping up two of them :)

Well I would certainly appreciate that. I had my eye on 718 as well, but I didn't want to get greedy either. It really is stunning wood and I had my heart set on it in a big way from the minute I laid eyes on it. Like I said though, I put it in my shopping cart right when it was posted (Andrew emailed me as I asked him to when the cloudy stuff was posted again) but the payment didn't complete until today. I had to get the money together so I sold a guitar. I would really appreciate you letting my have it!!!

Ah, that explains it. The web site must not check and remove things from your cart if they get sold in the meantime.

I really do like the 717 back with the 719 sides though. How set are you on that particular one? Any interest in buying the 719 back and 717 sides off of me for cheaper after I get them?

I'm not crazy about the 719 back. the sides are insane looking and I can definitely see where you were going with that. If it comes down to it, I would probably take set 718 instead depending on price. I was pretty set on 717, which is why I sold my last guitar out here. I have no guitar now until I head back the the US. How much less are you looking for?

Ok, I'll give them a call tomorrow and relinquish my claim on 717, and ask them to hold it for you. I'll post back here when it's done so you can call after that.

After further pondering, the redwood top I was going to pair it with really does go good with the 719 back as well, and I still get the sides I love too. And I wouldn't really want to just do another redwood/coco to use the 719 back+717 side set after that, so it wouldn't get the love it deserves, compared to me using 719 with redwood, and you using 717 with whatever you like :)

One condition though, you gotta post pics of whatever you build out of it

Oh and one more thing- a big THANK YOU for keeping our country safe [clap]

Oh no sir, thank YOU and thanks for the support as well. I will most definitely post pics of the guitar I build out of it. I have a multi scale in mind and I plan on keeping it for myself. I was thinking BRW until I saw this stuff. Gotta get home and finish a couple others first though.

bliss thanks again bliss

Hey Joey, you probably already got a call from Hibdon by now (couldn't post since I had my computer unplugged for a thunderstorm), but I got my order rearranged a while ago, so 717 is all yours [:Y:]

Plus I added a coco set from the monthly special to pair with a lonely spruce top I have, for my first classical. Which will also make a nice guinea pig since I hear cocobolo is tricky to glue, at least without epoxy, which I really don't like to use if I can avoid it.

So, happiness all around. Enjoy the set!

Unfortunately he can't call me over here, just email, but he may have talked to my mother. I'll have to check with her. And thanks again [:Y:]
