I decide to leave about 1/8" neck material under the fingerboard, in the section that sits on top of the box. This is to give the FB extension extra strength since this is a removable neck travel guitar. After a couple of passes with the angle grinder, I was using a chisel to clean things up. At first I was avoiding the carbon fiber spars, but then I tried trimming them with the chisel. They cut like butter. That was not expected.
