Found this link from a friend, and just thought it was very cool joint hardware. Not sure it would work with a guitar, but if it could, it would be a very cool way of joining a neck to a body.

Would love to see what others think.

Those are pretty cool. The only thing I would be worried about is using the connection device on a new finish. I would think that the vibration from the box/drill might not mix well with a freshly finished neck/body.

I would be concerned with getting even & sufficient torque. Otherwise... very cool gadget!

That's really cool Tracy! Whether guitar or otherwise, I'd be concerned that at some point, someone would want to get it apart and not know about the crazy magic magnetic bolts inside. I also wonder if the mag-drive has enough power to back it out again at some point in the future when it might be under tension or the threads have bound up.

Still really cool. I'm going to have to use them for something. Maybe a replacement for my deadbolt for when I don't want to have my keys, but won't mind carrying around an electric drill.

Mike

Cool device!.I would be concerned about the effect the magnets would have on the vibrating strings. I guess it all depends on how powerful the magnets are. Pickup magnuts aren't very powerful and they can effect the strings on sustain so i would be a little concerned if those are powerful magnets otherwize very cool attackment device for sure.
