I doubt any amount of pictures would matter but, I have this guitar that was given to my dad as payment for an entire summers work when he was just a boy.. He played it to death, took it everywhere with him even as an adult. He passed it on to me to keep, although its not for playing anymore (sounded atrocious). I used to play it when my Dad first taught me to play about 13 years ago.. I was 15 or so. He bought me a Fender Dreadnought when I turned 16 and I have played only that (meaning I have never owned another Non-heirloom guitar) since. I want to know what this guitar is.. if it's just some cheap knockoff, and judging by the pics of the inside, that's probably what it is. Since becoming interested in Lutherie, I've learned a few things from the many hours I've spent reading, trolling... asking dumb questions. There is no tag or anything like that on it that I could find, and the bracing is.. well, BAD. Here are some pics.. maybe more knowledgeable folks can shed some light. I would like to eventually get it to sound descent, and play well. As long as I can re-use a good amount of the wood, I wont feel bad about doing some work down the road.. after I get some REAL experience.
Sorry for the random nature of the pics.. not sure what else should be photographed.

I can't help you as to the brand, but I have seen odd shaped dreadnoughts such as this one.
It's not the best looking guitar from back in the day, but the imprints from the tuners look kluson to me, and the inside shot of the top looks as if it may be a solid top...
Does it have a decal for a rosette, or is it painted on, or is it inlaid?
likewise , the binding; painted, or actually let into the sides...
with a little TLC.... maybe a neck set, and some tweeking, it could turn out to be a decent playing guitar.
regards,
jack
