If you are interested, Jet has their tools and sale.

Among others, this includes the 16-32 Plus drum sander. I bought one from Tool Zone Inc. so the 5 year Jet warranty is included. Stand is included. No tax and free shipping delivered to my door for $799.99. This is $200 less than the $999.99 that Amazon and the the other suppliers are asking (many of which charge tax too). Tool Zone's accessories (infeed-outfeed tables, casters) are a little cheaper too.

I orderer mine from these folks and they are a good supplier, great deals on the extras too.
Lowest cost I could find in Canada or US.

Cheers - Luc

This is a cross the board Jet sale. Amazon has the same price, etc.

http://www.amazon.com/629004K-16-Inch-2 ... 011&sr=8-3

Regardless, it is a very good deal. Now if I was looking for a competitive deal, I would try to get someone to throw in the casters.

Can you not just use any old casters?

At the time I placed my order Amazon had the $999 price. They have since come down.

Perhaps. They would need to be fairly heavy duty.

I wonder if these casters from Rockler would work dimension wise? (weight wise they are good for 110# each = 450# total against 145# total sander weight) http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?page=21729 The price is nice.

Does anyone know a Jet supplier who will ship to Canada? They all say they won't ship international. I can only find 2 - A Delta from Busybee Tools ($270 shipping) and an "X-pert" brand by Rona. [headinwall] Not a lot of options!

I hear that. Then if you want to buy from a dealer there is a large markup and never any sales. Never any for sale used in Ontario either. I am going down to the states next week to get one.

Yes. When I bought mine a couple years ago they wanted something stupid for their casters - $80 maybe - So I went down the road and picked some up for $15~ $20 or so and they work just fine.

Thanks, Andy. I'm getting the $50 ones from Rockler today that are on sale for $25/set. The Jet casters were $110/set plus shipping!

I went to Rockler today. The manager pulled the Jet casters down ($150 plus tax!!) and opened them to determine the size for me. [clap] The Jet's were 1/2" stems. I spent an extra $10 and bought the (on sale) $35/set of locking Rockler casters with 1/2" stems (110lbs x 4 capacity) instead of the 3/8" stem casters. (same capacity $25 on sale online).

The Jet's were bigger and heavier, but the Rockler's are more than I need given how seldom and how short a distance I'll move the drum sander. They will work fine for and save me about $80+ compared to the cheaper Tool Zone price of $110 plus shipping for the Jet's. :D
