I'm wondering what your experience has been on waiting longer or shorter times for the KTM9 to cure prior to wetsanding and buffing. Is two weeks in a warm dry place sufficient? I want to minimize shrinkage after buffed. Thanks!

Longer is always better. Allows the finish to harden just that much more which will allow for an easier time level sanding and rubbing out.

2 weeks would be a minimum in my thinking. For the leveling, try using the 3M gold paper and dry sand for 600g, 800g & 1000g then move on to the wet sanding up to 2000g then buff out. You'll get a much better feel of where you're at with the leveling and if you happen to sand through there is no liquid getting sanded into the wood.... Once you're level up to 1000 your really just starting the rub out stages and should worry much about sand throughs.

I don't sand and buff until it stops smelling like fresh paint. Your nose will tell you when its ready.
