I was recently told about and used some kwick kleen finishing products. I was really happy with their products and service. My first order was free I called up and asked for a commercial sample. I went with their high solids sealer and conversion poly. ( the high solids sealer is no longer available I now use their vinyl sealer) I believe the poly starts out as a laquer then converts to a poly. You have a 6 hour window to apply the poly after that sucesive coats won't burn in. After 5 day it is fully cure and you can re-apply or rub out. This is a flexible finish that moves with the wood. Both products sanded easily and I was amazed at the fill of the sealer. I did'nt have to use a grain filler. The great thing was I applied the finish in a day. Also when I first applied to bare wood I had absolutely no bleeding from the indian onto the purf, binding or soundboard. Like I said I was real happy with their products. Only one issue was how the finish acted on indian rosewood. Its hard to explain but here goes I noticed it after I began sanding back it was a blotchy random look almost like a adheision issue. I dont think it was adheision though. I had no problems on other parts of the guitar. B&S, headplate and rossette were indian but different pieces. Top was sitka neck spanish cedar binding and back of head were madagascar rosewood again no issue here. I'm thinking maybe oils in the indian but dont know. I called the company's tec dept. and they were kind of leaning that way but not sure. I sanded back all the indian and started with shellac then re applied sealer and finish seemed to do the job. I was wondering if someone else has used these products and had similar issues or not
