Thought I would post this - mabye others might be interested.
I was thinking to try U-Beaut Hard Shellac for finishing, but had probem sourcing it here in Europe, and air freight is prohibited.
I tried all U-Beaut stockist's websites (including http://www.rons.biz in Europe but couldn't find any Hard Shellac, so made an inquiry direct to the maker about stockists and received this reply:

"Ron's has massive order in at the moment and there is Hard
Shellac in that order but it won't get there for about 3 mths. He may have
a little left from last order but not sure.

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.
