Anyone out there have or know of a source for a plan for an 0 size Martin type guitar? It isn't critical, but I would love to have one. LMI used to make one, but it is discontinued.

One thing folks do sometimes is to reduce plans for either an 00 or an 000 to the correct bout dimensions... Of course, the trouble is that the scale doesn't change in a linear way like the curves do... so you gotta redo the bracing for the scale you plan to use... but the outline will be about right..

The other option is to contact luthiers who build such things -- they frequently have tracings available.

John Hall is the 1st one that comes to mind if you are on the hunt for Martin tracings.

Thanks

John

I've built quite a few based on those plans now Todd.

Try forward shifting the braces. You'll be surprised at how much bottom end you can get from such a small bodied guitar.

Hi Mike,
I had a 1904 Martin 12 fret O that I traced the bracing on.
I would be glad to send you (or anyone) the plans.
Feel free to call me at 845 278-8847 (eves. NY time)

I also just bought the mold from John Hall (excellent quality) and am building one from Cuban mahogany and Adi.

Wow! Thanks for all the replys. I downloaded the zip files, emailed John Hall, and I will call Brad tonight. Thanks to eveyone for the help. Bob, I will try shifting the braces as you advised. Hopefully, I can get my hands on all of these plans and compare. I ordered the bending form from John Hall yesterday, but I was going to make my own mold. I don't know why I bother, because John sells them for a good price, and I didn't think to ask John about the plans.
Thanks again everyone!
Mike R

Brad,
I received the plan today. Thank you very much. That was very kind of you. If there is anything I can do for you, do not hesitate to ask.
Thanks again,
Mike R
