I've got the 1/16" from Lee Valley. It's very little. It works great for getting the binding channel at the neck joint on a classical. I wouldn't want to try and do a lot more than that with it though.

Todd, would you have a shot of your lap desk?
I have several pics/details of the original (it was in FWW wasn't it?)...one of my "maybe some day" projects.

I have a Hirsch 2 mm chisel that I like a lot. It holds an edge well, and is great for things like cleaning out the bottom of the saddle slot. I use it a lot. Available at Highland Woodworking. HERE

These are nothing that I would wanna be using much but for a quick swipe at a glue glob in a nut slot or to clean up a finish line under a bridge etc. I find these micro-chisels from Stew-Mac to be handy and nicely sized for a variety of small jobs.

I have the Veritas detail chisels which include a 1/16" chisel. Great for detail work but I won't be hitting them with a mallet anytime soon. ;). Lee Valley also carries the Japanese carving chisels which are great for cleaning up inlay cavities, binding channels etc. and are cheap. Aorund $4 or $5 if I recall.

I have a set of Irwin chisels, one of which is about 2.3mm wide.
