I am wondering what considerations there are for the peghead angle. I did a search and found out in a slot head it needed to be around 10 de. In my Martin OOO orchestra it is about 14 & I am going to build a MJ too & I read it at 16 de. Is there any reason why I can't make them the same? Are there any slot head specs out there?

A Martin head stock angle is 15 degree on both slot and pan heads

I use 11-12 for a classical
18 for a Flamenco with pegs!
15 for a solid head steel and 12 for a slot head steel.
Slotted heads need less angle because the tuners are low in the head & that placement causes a good angle to start with.
I have a repair in my shop that has a 18 degree head angle for a classical and the strings run onto the head between the nut & slots.
It's a bad design-you really do NOT want your strings cutting into the wood of the head.plus it can cause tuning problems.
