I only just looked at his work for the first time, but from one glance you can tell he was a master of his craft.

I'm deeply saddened by this news. Taku was not only a gifted builder, he was one of the gentlest and sweetest people I've known. We only saw each other at Healdsburg Festivals; I always made it a point to seek him out, see what remarkable new instruments and concepts he had produced, and spend at least a little time with him. I'll miss him; we'll all miss the wonderful instruments he would have made.
