Hello!

I'm somewhat new here, and thought I'd start off with a question: I have a home-based repair shop, and am looking for an insurance policy that would cover my shop area and any client instruments on hand. My homeowner's policy apparently will not cover this. Any thoughts are appreciated!

Thx!

Scott

My homeowners agent claims that my home policy covers up to $5,000 in home business loss. I never studied the policy myself. I tried to get them to write a separate policy, but they don't do it.

Yea Heritage. Most or at least a lot of home owners policies will cover home based businesses. One thing, and know this from doing insurance investigations, make sure shop is set up right with proper stuff. If finish that means dedicated room, exhaust fans, etc. If not and something happens, they will send a jerk like me and will be denied.

Erie was the best coverage for my situation. Remember that your insurance is only as good as your agent.

Ditto on Heritage, talk to Joan Gallo or Ellis Hershman.
