McFaddens is indeed closed. Their formulations were sold to Seagraves Coatings, but until the Court approves the liquidation, they can't do anything with them. The UV polyester folks have moved on to other suppliers.

Interestingly Todd, no one I've talked with at Taylor or elsewhere were really thrilled with the UV pore filler. UV was designed for finishing flat panels that were conveyed from spray booth to oven, not for vertical surfaces. So all the UV formulations were modified for work on guitars. There are a few other companies besides McFaddens who do UV finishes for guitar companies. The problem is that panel manufacturers don't pore fill, so its a very niche product.
