You know I'll be there Chris! I'm glad we finally got this one set up. It
should be a really great meeting at Kens shop/store. I hope we have
a big turn out . Everyone bring your guitars finished or not. :D [:Y:]

I gotta think about this one guys....Plant city isn't nearly as close to Jax as Spring Hill was.

Maybe Ken H. and John K and you can car pool it if they are going to make it.
Is sunburst finishing going to be one of the subjects?

I'm bummed but I'm not going to be able to make this one. I'm already booked up for that Saturday with Family stuff.

For the travelers though, I found a hotel room a couple of weeks ago on the hotwire.com web site for $25 a night in the Kissimmee Disney Maingate - Celebration area. It was a 2.5 star and ended up being a best western. Nothing fancy, but it was clean and I felt safe. That close to Disney I figured it was worth the gamble. This might be a good idea if you wanted to break up the trip and stay the night of or the night before. I hate getting up early and making a long drive. I think it would be 30 to 45 min to Plant City.

For me it would be a little over 3 hours for the trip. It might be a bit more from Jacksonville.

This should be a good time. I really wish I could make it.

John

I'm out. Too bad for me. I should have #2 done by then. I can't wait to compare the 2 side by side.

BTW - not trying to hit anyone in the knees when I say this but next time a little more forward notice would help me get there. If you posted it earlier and I didn't see it then poo on me.

I think I'd like to make it. It's a bit of a drive, but I'd really like to meet everyone.

I would like to suggest we have a set day every month such as every first, second or third Saturday of the month. There will always be some of use that can't make it, but if we try and work around every ones plans it will be very hard to make happen each month. With a set day every month we'll have a better chance at working it into our plans.

OR....a twist on Jim's idea...

A set day every quarter. My business is too busy to take a day from each month.

Just a suggestion.

Jim's right though...not everyone will be able to attend every time...whether it's every month or some variant of....

I like the quarterly idea. I think the key is to nail down a host for each meeting either way. Monthly would be cool. I know about half of us at the last meeting were from the Tampa area. Monthly might work for a local get together, but for those of us that are traveling from the northern, or southern, part of the state quarterly is probably more realistic.

Just be glad I don't live in Tampa, I would be bothering you guys all the time. You'd be screening my calls going "its John again, he probably needs to sharpen another chisel." laughing6-hehe

I'm kind of hoping for once a month on a trial basis. If it's to much work or not enough turn out then quarterly. It would be great to get some members from Gainesville area. It would break up travel part of the time and it's a great little town to spend the weekend with lots going on.

The meeting time will be 10:00 am. We need to decide what food we can bring for lunch and who's all coming for sure. Anyone have wedges to split some wood? The address I emailed everyone has changed to Ken's house and workshop. Dave Anderson has it. I know it's I-4 to exit #19, Thonotosassa Road. North on Thonotosassa Road for .8 mi. and turn right onto Chitty(sp?) . Ideas for some demo?
