I've got a customer asking about Camatillo rosewood. I've done some looking and it seems that it is fairly hard to find. I've found the odd set here and there but I'm wondering if there is any supplier who has a good stock of this stuff.

Thanks

Josh

This is my two cents. Often a person will like a particular guitar with a stricking wood. The person attributes the beauty to the species of wood; but in reality, it is usually the details of the particular set that are appealing. The person will ask for a new guitar made of that species, in the belief that the new guitar will be just as pretty. The new guitar will have a set with a different pattern, and the buyer will be disappointed. If the buyer is that particular about what set of wood you use, you might want to show him actual sets of other woods to select from.

Looks like LMI has run out. The only other place I've seen it is Cook Woods. They look to be charging a lot more the LMI was. http://www.cookwoods.com/InstrumentPage ... dSides.htm

Make sure your customer knows that this wood varies - no two pieces the same. He won't be getting what he saw.

Thanks for the tips guys. I'm not sure if this guy really has his heart set on the Cam. I was more interested to find out if it is even an option as far as availiblity goes. It doesn't look to be a great one.

Josh
