I had a GREAT day and got to meet OLFers Mike Procida and Mark Groza who stopped by for a lunch and a visit. :)

Mark has been a member of the OLF for a while now but we had never met before today. Mark lives on 5-6 acres not far from me, approx 45 min., and builds from the wood that he mills himself from his wooded property. I guess that you could say that Mark even grows his own wood.

Mike has been on the OLF for a couple of years now and has attended the Gallop School of Lutherie and plans to attend the school for additional training in the future. Mike is also a collector of the good stuff.... but I will let him fill you in on that should he wish to do so.

As is usually the case when visiting Flushtone Global headquarters I put my new friends through the drill and made them play some of my guitars. Here are some pics:

After the introductions and a brief shop tour we went to lunch at one of Tecumseh's finest dining establishments Sal Monella's.... Then we spent the afternoon chatting about guitar building, resawing and BTW Mark is a Sawyer with his own saw mill, and lots of other topics including listening to Blind Faith, Neil Young, and just generally having a great time! :D So much so that it was dark outside by the time that they had to leave.

Here is another shot of Mark later in the day..... :? :D

It was great fun for me and we all decided that we are going to get together again soon for more sharing and fun. Many thanks to Mark and Mike for visiting me!!! [:Y:]

Remember - never, never miss out on an opportunity to meet another OLFer!

Thanks! :)

Thanks for having us over yesterday afternoon - I had a great time. And when we walked into your shop - it was more like an OR room - was I ever impressed!!! wow7-eyes (and quite a bit jealous  ). As a new builder, I really learn a lot by seeing how some of you "old-timers" (yea, I know I'm older than you gaah ) and want to thank both you and Mark for opening your shops to me. This is the kind of sharing that I joined this forum for. I'm looking for more opportunities to learn from you and Mark and anyone else I can weasel my way into their shop. 8-)

Thanks again!

Mike
