That martin looks great. Does value of such old guitars go down when restored or vice versa?

I Built The Shooting Board for Fine sanding the Joints for the tight Fit

I first Cut The Tops And Backs Here On Me Handy Dandy Cutting Attachment ( still unfinished) The Cut Is Almost Dead On . requires a small amount of sanding for a perfect fit

Yeah I can relate....

I hope to get the last coat of Z-poxy on the Bubinga OM wedge today, do a shop clean up, and put up my spray booth. Next week I will start lacquering the 12 fret 000 and the wedge guitars. After my Cocobolo om last year and the Bubinga the EIR on the 12 fret sure looks boring, though it is a real nice set. I will post some photos later today.

I have found that the IR lamps I purchased for warming the glue areas for hide glue really speed up the Z-pozy cure time. My shop is a little cool ( 18 degrees C ) so I thought I would try the IR lamps to warm up the Z-poxy coats, it can be handled is about 3 hours and sanded after 4 or 5 hours. I also got some of the 400 grit screen type discs for my RO sander, they work real great with the epoxy and clog up much less than normal 400 grit discs.

Wow Steve that`s gunna be a real stunner.I`ve got a Mun Ebony set I aquired from the Zoot Man that`s scheduled for the next build.Your pic`s made me real eager to start.I`m still in the middle of a huge cabinet building project so I`ll have to wait a bit. Bummer. Thanks for the post though.

It's a 1/4" wide curly Koa strip bordered by w/b/w violin purfling.
It looks better (at least some) in person.

Not too much on the bench this Sunday...was a little busy.

Great shot of the superbowl! Must have been a blast! Being from Louisiana, my Saints pulled it out. I'm still in shock that they won! Anyway, while I was watching the game I was putting the binding on. Using super glue and quick grip clamps is all you need. Also used zipflex for the first time. Worked great! Love this stuff! Here are some pics:




By the way, there are some really great projects out there. Glad to see everyone busy building guitars!

I've been spraying two guitars over the weekend. Got three coats of lacquer on today. One is the guitar I built for my father in law back in the summer and the other is the Imbuia/cedar Celtic Beauty. Looking good if I do say so myself.

Also had to take the top off (again, sigh) the Tazzie blackwood guitar. The center seam opened up and I couldn't make a splint look good enough, so now it's onto the third top (sigh, learning is hard work!).

Me too, Rod!! You shooting the KTM-SV now or something else? I am still sticking with EM6000. I shot a couple of coats of shellac followed by 2 coats of lacquer on Saturday. Added three more coats of lacquer this evening. Woods aren't quite as exotic as yours, but they are starting to show their stuff. Below is a picture I took Saturday after shooting it with the shellac. The week is looking kind of busy, so I may not be done by Saturday as I had hoped.
