Does anyone know of a Canadian source for micro-mesh?
The distributor listed on their site for Canada in Quebec won't answer my e-mails. Micro-Surface .com won't ship across the border. The nearest distributor in Fullerton CA was very enthusiastic until they found out that I only want a few sample packs, now they won't answer my e-mails. Mohawk finishing carries sheets but not discs and won't do a special order. LMI carries it but hasn't returned queries as to a special order, only saying that it's something the don't really do. So if someone on this side of the line on the piece of paper has cracked this nut, or if anyone on the other side has any ideas, I sure would appreciate a shout out. I'm generally not much of an emoticon guy, but this sums it up rather nicely... [headinwall]

Lee Valley carries both the 5" disks as well as the 2"x2" sanding pads

Isn't being Canadian a drag some times, but I won't change my country of residence just to get easier guitar supply shipping.
I keep looking for sources on our side of the line but sometimes it is hard and often the prices are way out of line.

Fred

For the 'coarser' grits (ie up to 4000 grit) Abralon is an alternative.
WoodEssence in SK (good folks) carry them, as well as a lot of other finishing supplies.

I don't understand. LMII ships to Canada. Why do you need a special order?

I believe he wants discs instead of sheets. LMI only shows sheets on their web site.
Woodcraft has sheets, and discs, and they ship to Canada. They have information about shipping to Canada on this customer service page. http://www.woodcraft.com/Static/CustomerService.aspx#17

I'm in the US. I can't help with a source inside Canada.

I could be wrong, but, I believe that Stockroom Supply has the disks. I think they call them "Super Pads" and it may be that the numbering system is different. The ones that are listed for metals go up to about 3000 grit, but I don't know the standard. Anyway, aren't they in Canada? www.stockroomsupply.com

Awesome!
dang I love all you smart and knowledgable folks! Here I was searching high and low online and it was right under my nose the whole time. Micro-Surfaces doesn't list Lee Valley as a distributor, but I probably should have thought of it myself.
Thanks thanks and thanks!

We Canadians have issues with shipping some times guys. It's our reality.

When looking, you should always think of Lee Valley first!

I've bought it from Mohawk in Vancouver before. They supply wood finishing products.

Cheers,

Stefan
