Anyone have this information handy: what is the target weight range of a Kasha bridge on a steelstring guitar? (if there is such a thing as an "established" weight range)

I know logically it seems that one skinny end + one fat end = about the same as a medium width bridge, so maybe the overall weight is about the same as "typical" steelstring bridges.

Does anyone know?

it has been so long since I read any thing on the Kasha / Schnieder inpedancce dependent bridge system . I use to have some links on this computer. I will see if I can find them.

I can’t find the link I was looking for. Truth is it did not really give a lot of info anyway. Basically it said that the total mass was shifted so that approximately 40% more of the mass was on the bass side than on the treble side and of course this is designed to work with the Kasha / Schneider top bracing system. I tried Google and came up with very little to near no real info.

If you have dimensions for the bridge then you can calculate the volume. Then find out the specific gravity of the wood of your choice and calculate the weight. Just from the pictures I've seen of those things, I'd say the bridge is either rosewood or ebony. Plans for the guitars will probably have the dimensions needed and don't forget about the pin holes in your calculations. I'd assume that going on what they have so far dimension wise, that once you do the math that this would be a ballpark standard weight for the bridge. If it were mine, I would model up the bridge in Solidworks and let the software do the rest.
