I posted a few photos of this one last month showing the initial installation of the radial burl purfling and inlays. It's finally completed and ready to go. The combination of the Cedar, Bloodwood and Spalted Maple burl came together well.

Top: Bearclaw Sitka - RC Tonewoods
B&S: Curly Spanish Cedar - RC Tonewoods (Thanks Uncle Bob for the nice set, great figure)
Neck: Mahogany/Bloodwood - 7 Lam
Fingerboard: IRW
Bridge: IRW
Rosette: Spalted Maple Burl & Bloodwood
Purflings: Spalted Maple Burl
Headplate & Bindings: Bloodwood
Finish: French Polish
Tuners: Gotoh Minis w/ Cocobolo buttons

Beautiful - I like the headstock and rosette very much. And the subtle bearclaw is wonderful.

Peter,

Congratulations on a wonderful looking guitar! I love the woods you used on this one. A beauty in every respect. The rosette and burl purfling came out great.

Best,
Max

Beatuiful instrument! I bet it sounds great. You don't see it too often but spanish cedar is one of my favorites for back and sides.

Thanks for all your kind comments....this was a fun guitar to build, the aroma of the Cedar always made it pleasant to work on. I've decided that on my "ported" guitars I'm going to continue to add inlays on the neck and tail blocks as a surprise for the owner when he/she looks inside. I've done it on the last two and I'm pleased with the results.

Dave, I got the coco buttons from John Watkins of CNC Guitar Parts at our Michigan Luthier's get together back in Sept. of '08. I don't know if he is still making them.
