Greetings,
I have been looking for a place to buy Abralon pads to try out. I can only find 3 and 6" discs on the net. All my sanders are 5", as I believe (perhaps wrongly) that most common ones are. So for those who use Abralon pads, what is your setup? Do you use a 6" pad on a 5" sander or sand by hand? Any tips would be appreciated.
Thanks

I belive Abralon only comes in 3" and 6" pads. you can get micromesh in all the micron grits. Both 6" and 5" hook and loop with holes or without, or psa at http://www.micro-surface.com

I use 3" pads on a small ROS, but I see no reason that you could not use the 6" pads on a 5" sander. The unsecured portion would basically float around and do little sanding, but that wouldn't hurt anything. Or you could easily cut the disks down to a 5" diameter with scissors.
