I am going to focus on 00 Gibson style for a while if that weights the question.

What angle reamer do I want for my Bridge?

Do I need one for the peghead?

Do I need peghead recess reamers also?

Which ones? Stew Mac? Yikes I can spend a fortune on Reamers. Can you guys help me narrow it down to what I need?

It is all about personal preference. My 2001 J45 had 3 degree pins, but I'm not sure about a prewar L-00... Just get a reamer with a taper that matches your pins. I love having the right tool for the job but in my opinion, you should only spend the $50 on a reamer if you are going to be doing a LOT of bridges. I have a rusty old machinist's #3 reamer I found in my garage that is perfect for the job.

The bushing reamer you need depends on the type of tuners you are buying. Even then, you may be able to use a round rasp to get where you need to be.

Matt: Just for info for other folks,that#3 reamer is a tapered pin reamer. Used one for years and works a treat.
