Does Sassafrass need to be pore filled? I swear I can`t see any pores.Of course my eyes aren`t the youngest.

Not needed unless the is a slight opening between grain cells due to dry out seperation which I have seen in Sassafrass before. But mostly it is like Maple. I just dont need the attention ;)

Thanks Michael, that`s what I figured. There are a couple of tiny cracks that may need to be dealt with.It sure is pretty wood though.

It bends pretty much like Maple. at .09" - .08" 275-300F It will scorch quickly so don’t waist time. Both times I used it I did treat with SSII but I am doubtful I needed to.

Like Michael said, you`ve got to move along. We didn`t use SS 2,but we wrapped it in brown paper and didn`t get any scortching.
We bent it at .085.It seemed fine at this thickness James
