I am getting ready to start a 0-18 style 12 fret model. I have read that the Martins of the late 20's were lightly built and were remarkable in their sound quality. Can anyone help with top and back thicknesses from this period?

A good friend has a 1917 0-18 ... the top is likely around .100, the back a little less. Bracing is about 1/4 by 1/2 tall. These numbers will get you close, but it really depends on the top stiffness as to what the numbers really are ..... a really stiff piece of adi might go to 85-90 on a single 0 .. or stay thicker and brace a bit lighter ... its all relative ...
