Jeff at Woodessence has taken on importing and warehousing LM poly now. I bought two gallons this month and my cost is less than what I was paying direct without the wait and importing hassles. I'm one happy dude.

www.woodessence.com

He also stocks Target and Fuhr waterbased coatings too.

Great guy to deal with.

Is that polyurethane or polyester? I guess he can get either. Which are you using Sheldon?

He is a good guy to deal with.

Cheers,
Danny

Just the polyester currently. I use R-1775.

I've used many different brands of polyester and so far this is the best by a long shot.

One of the coolest features is that it can be spot touched up without a witness line. At least if you catch it within a week or so. Just sand the touch up area with 800 grit. Cut the catalized poly 50:50 with acetone and airbrush on 4-5 coats. We're getting perfect blends. The only thing that gives it away is when the instrument gets dusty, the dust will show the touched up spot somehow, but as long as it's clean, you can't see it.

I get all my abrasives (and got my sander) from Wood Essence. Jeff's great to deal with.

Wish we had a similar supplier here in the US. McF's is right back to their long wait times for product again. You'd think that their near demise would have taught them to be more prompt. idunno
