Hello everyone,
I am the original woodbutcher who is thinking of learning to build stringed instruments. I have some exsperiance with wood and have built a few projects, a coffe table, captian bed, and a clock. I also built a backgammon set for my sister. So I am familiar with wood and tools. I have been thinking of trying my luck with some small repair jobs before i jump in and try a full instrument. Anyway. I have been lurking here for some time and see that there is a wealth of informative minds here and look forward to bothering you guys constantly for help.

Welcome Izzy! You are at the right place here for help with building your first guitar. As far as starting with repairs first, you will learn how to repair better by building first. And you will learn more about building by building than you will by repairing, so have at it.
