Has anyone had any experience using Mcfaddens nitro over z-poxy finishing resin? I used KTM9 on Numero Uno and it looks pretty good but was thinking of using the real thing on Numero Dos. Our paint booth at work is set up to handle flammable coatings. I would just have to provide my own respirator. I also have a Ramirez classical that I bought as a scrat & dent that I want to repair. Also, I am using a HVLP gravity feed spray gun from sears that works for me with 1.5 mm tip, see link below. Would this gun be appropriate for nitro? I really like the Z-poxy and still have enough left for a couple of guitars. Thanks...

I have a similar conversion gun made by Ingersol Rand. I haven't used Mcfaddens, but I have use Watco with it over Z-poxy, I did seal the Z-poxy with shellac before spraying the lacquer. With mine I set the compressor at 85 psi and the gauge on the gun between 35 and 40 psi, I would end up with about 20 psi with the trigger held continuously, That worked quite well for me.
