Alan, can you elaborate a bit on this event? I suspect you've participated in the previous few years. How many people tend to show up (tables)? General audience attendance? Any other highlights or observations would be great to know.
Thanks!
Filippo
Howdy Filippo,
Heh, heh, yeah I've participated. Actually it was I who started the Colorado Luthiers group and put on the first two shows. I have since stepped down and Patrick Aslakson is now the head of the group, he is the one putting on this years show.
Those earlier shows were held at the Swallow Hill Music building, you can see details and photos of those shows by going to the Colorado Luthiers web site
http://coloradoluthiers.org/ . Click on the link at the Left for the Colorado Custom Guitar Festival and that goes to a different page that shows info from past shows too. Click on the Show Photos link to see images of the 2004 show. I thought we had up photos of the 2005 show but I don't find those now. In any case you can get a good idea of the traffic and typical layout from those photos.
They were pretty well attended. At that time we were only allowing members of the ColoLuth to exhibit and I think we had about ~20 tables for each show. Given the current count in the list of Exhibitors right now for the 2009 show I suspect it will be similar, probably under 25 tables. That will probably be the limit for the Rotunda space although I haven't actually seen the new location at the School, it might expand to more. Still, for $75/table you can't beat the price with a stick and I think that includes tickets to the Saturday night show! It should be fun and I hope to get good traffic. The evening show should be great too.
Laters,
