Well, as you veterans can see, I am back-returned(Arnold or Mc Arthur, take your pick). Pat Foster gave me a warm greeting. I am back in the game as much as health will allow. I have missed you as friends and have missed the gentle enjoyment of crafting acoustic guitars. Boy-o Boy; electrics use lots of electrons burned in the building-not just the playing. I am doing Les Paul "replicas"--legal, no infringements but real earmarks of 59 burst era construction.

I am finishing my OM that has been idle so long- the build has certainly acclimated over a couple of years and John H. is helping me start a Martin slope dread, 12 fret, 12 string from Bob's Imbuia( 2 plus years for the wood to acclimate-my wandering away). I had bought John's mold a couple of years ago because I like the body so much. He is bending sides for me and getting me a factory neck- we are making my re-entry "gentle."

Totally unemployed now and awaiting Social Security- short term memory still an issue, but leveled out. I still love my handtools but I thinned down my herd to my favorites-which is still a fine array. I sold my two best acoustics to get quite a few more luthier specific tools and a duplicating router-carver.

Some of you may recall that I was trying to become the importer for U-Beaut Hard Shellac. Well, I got my end all set up; had a very helpful broker. Once I sent Neil all of the requirements for his end, I was disappointed that he just tossed me away as more trouble than I was worth- I wanted to start with a $2500USD initial order. It just became burdensome for him.

Hi Mike
Glad to see you back on the forum. That imbuia should make for a very nice guitar.

Good news Mike - it is always great to get back to something you love to do.

I'd be interested to see your work on the LPs - for a long time, I've wanted to do one that was detailed and accurate enough to make Joe Gansler scratch his head. Still doing my homework and looking for certified old-growth Hondo mahogany.
