SPECIAL AUCTION – Brazilian Rosewood

Up for grabs this time is a member donated set of Brazilian Rosewood. This set has a bit of curl in the back, the sides are EXTRA wide and the tap tone of this set is fantastic. There are a couple of very tiny pin holes that will need to be fixed, but nothing that is atypical for Brazilian Rosewood.

We are going to try something new again this time. We are asking for a bid increment of AT LEAST $5.

This auction ends Friday at Noon in the usual way.

Hi Lance,
Got a few questions to through out - Sides quartered? Back rift or? Any more history on the wood (e.g. when harvested)

Thanks,

Filippo

The sides are quartersawn
I have no idea about the back
It appears to be quartersawn down the middle and flat sawn at the edges.
The tap is great though

That is beautiful! Lance, IIRC, you already mentioned the $5 bid increment a number of auctions ago.

IIRC there was some confusion in the last auction as to what noon actually was...

perhaps making the point that it is noon eastern time (or whatever) is needed?

not that I have any funds available to partake in the auction of this very nice set, but others obviously do..

Looking at the times that come up on the posts, your personal computer is somewhere out in the Atlantic??

Lance,
you always used to say who donated the wood or where it came from but the past auctions there has been no mention of it. May I ask who owned this set?

Peter,
We have a small stack of wood sets donated by OLF members to help out at various times over the last year or so.
None of the last three sets came from our sponsors, Bobs set was the last "sponsor" auction.
Most everyone asked to remain anonymous, so that is what were doing.

Lets call them Member donated auctions! [:Y:]

By the way, thanks again to those that provided us with the sets! You know who you are [clap]

Dave, how nice of you to jump in on this for the company.
We'll have to negotiate that raise now.
