Does anyone ahve a source for a diamond scribe for etching shell? also, what size andshape of tips do you like to use ?thanks jody

Jody: Most engraving I've seen has been done with graves.They look like a small three corner file ground off at about a 60 degree angle so that one of the corners is the cutting point.Lots of info on the net and you could make one yourself from a small file.

I was just going by what i thought I remebered reading in the Larry Robinson book , I have some cheapo needle files, I will try to make one out of one of those, thanks Jody

it is my opinion that any micro diamand file is giong to be to big to use to etch in most lines on shell. Plus because they will be grinding rather than cutting the shell there would seem to me a loss of fine control. I know a set of gravers are not cheap but they are the right tool for the job
