Hey Joe,

Don't know if it's the best plan but GAL has one for the Gibson L-00.

The GAL plan goes along with an article in American Lutherie #91. The article has some photos of the guts of the original guitar.

I don't have the plan, but it is on my list of things I want.

Joe,

If you're interested in an L-00, I used Mark Swanson's plan with good results. It has a little extra depth, a la Nick Lucas. Don't know of any sources for a Martin-type offhand.

Thanks guys, the Gibson is what I had in mind, sorry for not specifying. The Gal plan looks pretty good.

Pat, where do you get Mark Swanson's plan?

Joe

I've taken those plans to get printed, they are very nicely drawn. Haven't built from them, yet.

I'm just spraying nitro on an L-00 that was built from the Grellier plans and it is turning out great. A nice set of plans to work from.

The GAL plan was drawn by Kerry Char from a couple of L-00's that he had for repair. My new Greven is also based on those very same guitars as John told me that he had a look at the guitars when Kerry had them. I have Mark's Plan and it is a good plan but he does say that he has made some modifications from the original L-00. I don't to what extent those mods are.

Joe,

I don't recall offhand. I'll see if I can find out.

As Shane said, there were some mods on Mark's plan. I think depth of the body was one of them. You could ask him at MIMF.

Hello Peter. Welcome.

Christophe also builds some ROCKIN' nice guitars. He was across from Lance and I in Montreal. Super nice guy too.

Joe,

I got the L-00 plans by Mark Swanson at MIMF, on their Secure Online Order Form.

Thanks for the help everone, now I can add a 14 fretter to my bag of tricks!
Somehow I've only built 12 fret slot-heads so far. :D
