The speed auction went well, so we think we will continue to try this. Up for grabs this time is an excellent set of figured Madagascar Rosewood. As you know getting decent Madrose with figure is getting impossible to find.

This set is large enough for a dreadnaught (if you join the back carefully), with 4.75+” wide sides.

Auction ends Monday at noon!

Happy hunting.

So who is this set from, exactly. I'd like to know from whom I'm buying before I bid. I'm not very fond of the whole anonimity factor.

whoever won, made a nice deal. I would have happily paid 300 (and more) for it, IF I had any money left. I bought so much wood in the past couple of months that I might have to live on bread and water for the next 6! wow7-eyes

Yeah, that's some nice wood. But I have to find $300 for car insurance due in August. Either way I see Peter has it. Just maybe $10 less then his last bid. :P
It's getting like Ebay around here! :D

While looking at how the bidding went with this item, I'm wondering if a couple rules would be beneficial.

For example, some fixed bid increments:
5$ for items in the 0-50$ range
10$ for 50-200$
20$ for over 200

And second, last hour bids should automatically move up the ending time. A bid placed at 11:35 should move the end time from 12:00 to 12:35.

I would have to respectfully disagree with all those suggestions. Ends at 12:00 means it ends at 12:00. If you want to set a increment then it should be one like $5 no matter what the outcome. Keep it simple I always say. :)

Yes it is not an usual form of auction, but definitely not my invention :) The purpose of the extension is to eliminate sniping and keep the things open and fair. Sniping is one annoying "feature" on ebay. I admit I did it too though, and it is fun, except for the loser :)
