Greetings all,
I have been thinking lately of the forward shifted x guitars. If this is what Martin did originally, and then stopped due to structural issues, is it safe and wise to build this style or are you testing your luck? For those of you that do build this style, what are the dimensions of your braces? I've searched the archives but it yields too many results that are not quite what I need.
Thanks in advance...

martin did the forward shifting of braces up till the early 40's. It is safe and you should not have strutural issues. Today Martin will use both depending on the guitar being made. Also only and ONLY the dred was affected by this change.
