Hey guys and girls,

Does anyone know which of the jig making materials CA will not stick to? I know teflon but I seem to remember there being others which are a little stronger. I would like to rip my own teflon strips too so if anyone knows of a source they trust for long pieces of teflon and wouldn't mind sharing it that would be great. Thanks everyone!

UHMW from places like Lee Valley.

I use Delrin for a stick-free caul and tool material - superglue peels right off of that stuff. I just pick through the drops section of my local metals and plastics supplier in town (American Steel And Plastics / ALRO Steel). Their drops (cutoffs from orders) tend to be pretty huge for my needs, and sell pretty much at scrap prices per pound. Seems like there would likely be some steel and plastics supplier around the greater Boston area with something similar. If not, you can always just go to the usual places like McMaster Carr, MSC, Grainger, or whatever industrial suppliers you have around there.

If you have a woodcraft nearby they sell phenolic faced birch plywood.

I have also used the Lee Valley 3Lb UHMW random lots. Very useful stuff! CA glue just turns into little pellets even with a kicker spray. It won't stick. The local hardware might have the white cutting boards if want to test some out.

I've been using a lot of malamine or cabinet liner plywood with the white plastic cover like malamine for certain jigs. Find a source that supplies cabinet shops.

Lowes has the Melemine shelfing and plywood.

The one Lowes here has 4 X 8 sheets of the MDF malamine.

CA sticks to the Malamine. I used to use anything , then use wax paper as a CA barrier. UHMW Nylon is what I use now. It is affordable and i most cases easily available at most industrial supply houses

This works for me. Get a tube of 100% silicone caulk. Mix the caulk with Naptha to the thickniss of thin house paint. Brush this mixture onto any surface that you don't want glue to stick to. When it dries, it will be like a real thin coat of varnish and nothing will stick to it.
