Turns out we have some friends in Montreal, so we have a place to stay. So we are looking forward to the Montreal guitar show July 3-5.

Should be good. Montreal is an awesome city. I went to the show it's first year and met Tony Karol and Tim McKnight. Nice nice people. Also went to a workshop by Charles Fox that really was a big start to me building.

The show was much smaller back then. Now there are probably 3 times the participants. And now I have a few builds under my belt so should be great. Then I was looking at buying guitars - now I'm looking to poach ideas :)

Just wondered if anyone else is going?

Neil

Hi Neil,

I plan on attending the Montreal Guitar show. Had a great time last year, and met many
builders.

Do you guys know if there are and luthier workshops being held at the show? I would
certainly like to particitpate.

Luc

I am going .. 3rd year. Its really the only one for me, the others are too far and too costly to get to.

I'm looking forward to being back as well. I was a bit of a late entry for this years show. I wasn't planing on doing any shows till Aug so I don't have any demos ready to go.

I wonder how many guitars I can build in 2 months....

Josh

I hope you bring one of those Piedmont's you build. I really like the look of those.

Based on the economic conditions we elected to omit the Montreal show this year and focus more on the Healdsburg and a couple of smaller shows here in the US. Montreal is one of our most favorite shows. The people are very friendly, we love the city and all the wondrous attractions it holds. We hope to return next year and will sadly miss all of our Canadian friends and fellow builders.

Neil,

I am planing on bringing a Piedmont. I have a nice set of Monkey Pod I've been wanting to try and some nice Italian Red Spruce for the top. I think it should make a nice Piedmont (L-00). I'm also planing on bringing an OM and a Baritone, provided I can get them done....I feel some late nights coming on.

Lance,

No I won't be at Healdsburg. I'd like to go, but I can't afford it this year. I've been planing a move to a bigger shop for 6 months now and am right in the middle of it. Although I'm just moving into a new building it is still requiring a lot of work (and money) to get it set up the way I want. I knew I wouldn't be able to afford much extra this year. I wasn't even sure I would make it to Montreal, but I will be there. I don't understand it but I'm not getting rich building guitars. :D

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone from last year and meeting a few new people as well. See ya in 2 months. And if you don't here much from me till then it is because desperately trying to get my guitars done.

Josh
