Hi Folks,

I just got back from a much needed vacation to Hawaii with the Mrs (no kids with us!!), and have been bitten by the Ukulele bug! Listening to Jake Shimabukuro has certainly changed my perception of this fine instrument. Does anybody offer Ukulele kits (I saw Stew Mac does, but looking for more options)?

Thx!

Glenn

I recommend the Hanalima kits. They have a ukulele school also in Hawaii. You can get tips and help from their website. A few words of caution. Their plans overbuild because I presume they don't want failures. I can tell you from experience that you can lighten up considerably on thickness of materials and get a better sounding instrument to boot.

There's a seller on eBay who sells Ukulele kits once in a while - he currently has an auction for a Mahogany Ukulele kit, item number 250407784064. I've also seen him sell kits with other woods, e.g., Port Orford Cedar top and Oregon myrtle back/sides.

He also has a website which you can check out: http://www.bluemtnacoustics.com/
There are no kits listed there, but other woods he in ukulele size. He offers side bending service as well.
