I was looking for a fast way to quantify my Classical FB shaping
I ended up using the stewmac string action guage (indispensible tool)

in the fret kerfs to measure relief from fret to fret
and bottom E taper by sliding it right and left
its alot easier than constantly wielding the straight edge

Yep, I have one and love it. A high school friend gave me one. I still have it even though the friend is passed on. Mesolethemia. He once worked around asbestos at our nuclear plant.

If I lost this tool I'd ring 'em up at Stew Mac immediately. Made right here in town, Rustyville Arkansas.

I spend 45 minutes usually planeing and scraping a classical board.
I do it like Ramirez-relief on the bass side from fret 7 to the s.hole.

For me there is NO other way achieve the correct relief in(on) a classical f.board !
We really have to do some work to get our guitars to play right !!!

PLUS the string height off of the top -can make a noticable difference -in nylon strung guitars -as well as steels !
