I am bracing a back and I am using 1/4" width on all braces !! its an SJ, 16"+ lower bout, EIR. will this be ok or would you guys recommend wider braces on the 2 lower braces ? . They are allready glued on. but if it´s a must, then Ill shave em off. so what say you.

Lars.

Obviously it is not the OLFSJ as the lower bout is 15 ½” not 16+.

To address your question I would need to see the locations and the shape of the body but if you have two in the lower bout and the are roughly 5/8 tall I suspect you are fine

Its my own design, allthough I am using your bracing scheme ! So I am happy your replied first [:Y:] Ok then I guess I am good. I am waiting for a few things to continue on the other SJ from your plan. The box is closed and I am French polishing it, takes forever it ferels . haha, allthough lots of fun to see it come to life. I soo wish I can attend your FP course at red rock. We´ll see how the wallet looks at that time ;) .

So if I use 5/8" tall on the lower 2 braces, then can I use same on the upper 2 or can I use lower on those like 3/8" ? I got a bit confused as reading the plan. X vs normal.

Sincerely Lars.
