Here's another made from Victorian Blackwood and Adirondack Spruce.

The Spruce is the ugliest piece we had with very wide grain spacing and some discoloration.
Interestingly it was about 150 grams lighter that the Adi used in the Coco dread.

Sapwood has been used everywhere I could. There's even a little in the neck which is also Blackwood.

Fingerboard and bridge are Brigalow, a Queensland desert acacia.

The bindings are figured sapwood from a Blackwood.

It was the most played and commented on instrument at the Port Fairy Folk Festival which we displayed at least week.

This one is a little brighter with not quite as much depth in the bottom end as the Tiger Myrtle OM.

Ugly?!? That's a great looking top! It seems to say to me, "yeah, you might not think I'm much to look at but wait 'till you hear my voice."

I like racing stripes myself.... Or wide grain at the ends, but close grain means older wood....I have some 'old german' tops, and the grain is tiny and even all the way across....

Hey Bob good to see you using that ugly Adi. If you find it gets you down looking at it, I will happily take it off your hands. Have you tried Qld Maple and Adi? If so how does it compare with the Blackwood? 150 grams lighter . that must be one responsive little Guitar. Well done once again.

Looks great Bob! Out of curiosity, how many growth rings per inch where they are furthest apart? The reason I ask is that I have a top with growth rings at 3 per inch(at the widest spacing), and surprisingly stiff across and with the grain, but I am reluctant to use it thinking it will show ripples when finished due to the hardness difference at the grain and in between.
