Does anybody have an opinion on the Bronse Spokeshaves at Lee Valley?

I have a set of those, much nicer to use with longer wooden handles.

They are great for neck shaping, i use mostly the curved in both directions one. The steel seems good, they get nice and sharp and i hardly ever need to sharpen them.

Have them, almost never use them. You get what you pay for.

I have a set, I think they're too small to be much use.

Pretty much decorations. I've never been able to use them very effectively.

If you want them to be fun to use, you've got to put some handles on them! Those little nubs are not too comfortable to hold.

I made my handles long enough that i can wrap my hands around them, this lets me take VERY aggresive bites when roughing out necks, which is what i like them for.

Sounds like a good idea Jordan. I'll have to try that. Did you epoxy the handles on?

Actually Ive been more curious about the concave spokeshaves that Lee Valley stock...

Yes, epoxy and some brass pins holding them on.

I have a concave spokeshave (not that one) and i dont really like it for neck shaping. I like convex to rough out and flat to finish, but i never got the concave one to feel right, maybe its just me though.
