I hope someone can push me in the right direction with this question... I've been looking through a couple of catalogs trying to find the clamps (or latches) that people use on the ends of their molds to hold the two halves together... what are those fellows called, and where can I source them?

TIA,

They're called "latch type" toggle clamps. Most stores that carry woodworking tools should carry them. DeStaco are one of the pricier ones but there are a number of other manufacturers that offer them.

Here's an example http://www.allproducts.com/manufacture1 ... duct2.html

Ken, I was searching for some latch clamps to upgrade my molds and happened upon a company called "Clamptek"...if you Google that name, look for part # CH40840...they're made in China, but the price is $4.40 each...for the price they're not bad...for holding guitar molds closed they're working great so far...I wouldn't wanna climb a mountain with them holding my rope or anything...

Larry

ive also come across them at harbor freight. they dont have them on their web site, but ive seen them in the store. if you have one near by you might be able to save on shipping that way.

I also stock them. Harbor freight in my area hasn't had a pull type toggle clamp for years. IF you can get them there , they will be the cheapest.
