like always with this spicific question; This gets back to the buy 5 cheap tools that last a year or less each or by one good tool for the same money that last a life time issue. Yes it will get the job done but barley decently and will not last very long. spend 5 times that money and get a Fuji Mini-Might 3 or 4 and get a high quality turbine and gun that will out last 20 of these and have much beter results and adjustability and product support.

Can't speak to the one your looking at, and if that is what your budget will allow, then I am sure you can learn to use it and get the job done, particularly if doing a few instruments a year. Can't speak for the Fugi, but know Michael knows his tools and would trust it 100% without reservation. I use the Wagner 4 turbine (think might be 3) for 6 years. I bought 2 of them from a guy who bought them and to big to spary tans on folks at his tanning booth (that in itself seems scary) probably hard to get on the buffing wheel also. Never have had a problem and not have to use the spare one yet. I use the gun that came with it, but going to get a better one down the line.

YEP back for awhile anyway. Not eligable for surgery right now after some test, so back to the chemical's. Not to bad, but for some reason the smell of the stuff gets to me more than nausea. I check in here while sitting around and bored stiff.

I am going to get back in the shop and what happens, happens. Sucks, but I have faith and that works for me. I am going to build some stuff for my folks and try and figure out some electronic wiring schemes for some cheap Gibson Baldwin and Goth guitars have in shop to get to them. I hope to get setup with some stuff I build with Steve Bedford and Guitar for Vets. It is a non profit group to get guitars to vets. They do different and better than what I was doing. Steve is a full time repair shop and electric builder and good guy. His dad live rather close to me in Nixa, MO. They get guitars in and repair and then sell them, and then can buy more guitars with the profits. I know this isn't for everyone and particularly full time pro shops. I have to build both profit and give aways to make it work for me. I would however encourage any builders who build and wish to spread around for good cause, to think of this outfit and if works for you contact Steve or go to the Guitar for vets site.

I'm with Mr. Payne on this one...I'm too poor to buy cheap, so my first, and last HVLP system will be the Fuji mini4.

I always find you never regret buying a great tool. As the old addage goes, swear at a tool just the one time you buy it and not every time you use it.­..

I used to own a Fuji Q3, and it was an amazing unit. Very quite, sprayed silky smooth and even, and never had a single issue with it. VERY highly recommended.

Sorry guys... I was not serious about this. I kind of knew what the response was going to be. I was just posting it in case someone had a budget that would demand such a tool and wanted someone to say whether or not it was a good idea.

I have been looking into HVLP conversion guns and would appreciate suggestions. I have big 60 gallon compressor.

As you probably can guess my advise is to not go conversion gun. Get off compressed air and get all the benefits of a turbine unit. But that said there are a lot of good conversion guns out there. Sata is likely the best but pricy. With a conversion gun you do need to filter air supply well and a dryer is also great idea so that you have a warm air supply but driers are costly. That is one of a turbine unit’s great attribute, warm dry air supply.
