I am a first time builder, trying to build a mandolin, i am in the prosess of making the neck and i need to know whats the angle of a scarf joint or spanish luthier joint, could anybody please Help me :)

Most steel string builders build to a 15 deg back angle for peghead. I assume a mando would be near the same I also assume classical builders use a little less say maybe 12-14

The Troughton's book show 16 degrees for a flat top mando. I guess 15 is also OK.

Hey Jon,

I just checked Siminoff's book. His are one piece but the angle is 13 degrees, 15 will probably work :D
