I just applied my first set of reverse kerfed linings on my harp guitar project (from Zoot Man)... Spanish Cedar. That has changed my perpective on kerfed linings. Love the stuff! IMHO, way easier to apply and clamp. Finished look is far superior (and cleaner) than the normal suff. Don't think I will fo back to normal kerfed linings (unless requested)

When you glue the top and back on you'll find most of the squeeze out goes into the kerfs leaving a lot less to clean up. Another positive spin-off. It's good stuff.
