Hi all,

I'm finding it somewhat challenging to maintain constant humidity levels in my work area which is in the basement of my house. So I'm toying with the idea of buying this little greenhouse from Home Depot:

http://www.homedepot.ca/webapp/wcs/stor ... PartNumber

The idea is that I would keep all wood that I am working on, or will be working on in the near future, inside the greenhouse which, I hope, would be easy to keep at proper humidity levels. However, as I don't have a good feel for how fast thin plates of wood absorb or release moisture I don't know if this is a valid approach. Can anyone tell me if this would work, i.e. would I get a number of hours where I can assume that the moisture content of the wood would be close enough to the right amount as established my the humidity levels in the greenhouse?

Thanks,
Pat

Well, if you do decide on a cabinet to store wood, certainly you can build one for a lot less than $299.

Frame a small room with 2x4 in your basement and staple .010" on the studs, total cost should not exceed $50 and the time it would take you to put together the greenhouse…
