Has anyone tried this one yet? When I saw it I thought it would be excellent for hogging out the spruce for an archtop build due to it's size. Anyone know how wide that blade is? It looks like it could get the job done quicker.

I saw they also offer a 100 1/2 type plane. With little difference in price, which is better, the St. James 100 1/2 or the LN based 100 1/2?

Thanks for the heads-up guys. I'm a bit disappointed to hear about St. James! I've been eyeing some stuff on their site for some time now and was planning on pulling the trigger on a couple of their planes. Especially the little Violin Plane with Rosewood Palm Rest. It's $55, maybe I'll take a gamble. As for the 100 1/2 I'm convinced the LN is the way to go.
